No matter how you cut it, no matter how proud you are for getting there, losing in the final game is still losing! That is tough to swallow, and that is the hardest thing about out loss in Washington just over two weeks ago.

I have had many people come up to me and tell me how proud they are of us and of what we accomplished. So many people happy that we got as far as we did. As tough as it is to understand, all of that will take time to sink in. What sits with me now is the "one that got away"! As of today, I will do my best not to dwell on it, and tip my hat to the Stealth who were a great team. They had many reasons to give up, and didn't chose to do so. The crowd was great, and from everything I heard the feed on TSN was great as well. That I can live with, the loss.......well it will take some time!

I am proud of the group of guys we had this year, and proud of our organization. It is not my place to say we had to turn things around or any of that, but I do know a good group when I see one. We all played hard and came so close to ultimate glory. Here is to hoping, that the feeling we had two weeks ago can drive us to excellence again next season. I am sure there will be some changes, there always is but whoever is left will have tremendous drive to get there again next year, but this time host it and win it!

Anyway, time to move on.

I spent the last week in Mexico attending my good friends wedding and enjoying some sunshine and some umbrella drinks! A little R and R for my wife and I before we enter the end of school year, camp season and of course summer lacrosse here in Canada. For those of you who don't know, most NLLer's play in a summer time "Major A" lacrosse league that consists of teams in Ontario and BC. Each summer ends with the best in each league combating for the oldest trophy in Canadian history, the Mann Cup. I have been lucky enough to be on the two time defending champion Brampton Excelsiors. My summer lacrosse plans are still up on the air as of this moment but I will keep you all posted. I do know that I will not be playing in the MLL or with Team Canada as they travel to Manchester for the World Lacrosse Championships in July. Wishing them the best, and BRING BACK GOLD BOYS!!

As for camps, the Rock and I have decided to team up and to an Ontario circuit, including Kitchener-Waterloo, Orangeville, Whitby and Oakville. All the camps will take place in July and August and will be hosted by myself and a host of other Rock players. Kids can expect to learn the game we love, as well as have a blast playing many other sports in an environment that breeds leadership, respect and teamwork. I am looking forward to seeing many of you Rock fans this summer at some point out and about.

That is it for now. I have to buckle down and keep my students focused as we near the ever close June 30th end of school date. The sunshine and beautiful days are getting everyone ready for yet another awesome summer.
