Time for a Rest
Hey guys, what's up in the yard this morning? I have to say that I am a very tired man today. The Mann Cup ended Tuesday night with a 9-6 win over New West, and the bumps, bruises and partying is taking its toll today!!! It sure was the crowing moment of an unforgettable summer for me. It is time for me to start teaching, and recover for a little while?my body needs a rest, as I played a lot of lax this summer.
As I stated earlier, the Mann Cup is over and I have to say that I forgot what a feeling it is to win it. It has been since 2001 for me, although I have been close in the past little while, nothing compares to the feeling of elation when you get to hoist the "MANNER"!!! I think it is so rewarding because of what you have to go through to finally win it. The long summer, the long trips, the practices, the long weekend games etc??..You really appreciate winning, that is for sure.
Anyway, I guess after a week or two of rest it is time to start ramping up for the NLL season. As I said in an earlier blog, I am really looking forward to getting that going. I can't wait to see how we shape up as a team. We will have a drastically different look, so things will be very interesting for us.
On an NFL note, I am doing okay in my pool, but I have to say that it is going to be a very long season for the Lions. Calvin Johnson looks awesome, but that is about it!!! No defense, No Defense, No Defense?..Normally I can fall back on my Wolverines, but they may actually be worse this year!!!
Ah well, what can you do?
Stay tuned,

Congrats Colin. You earned a good rest for a long 3 seasons of lacrosse. Now we just need to finish off the trifecta for you in SJ. I'm kinda feel good about the Lions against the 49ers. Calvin is a monster and Roy needs to get going. If the defence can get going ...who knows! I'm feeling good about the big blue. I think Rich will be ok...only one game is important...BEAT the Buckeyes!

well thanks for the kind words, but since this is a little late we all know what happened to my Lions in San Fran!! Did you go to the game?
It was a great summer, and now the pressure is on in San Jose to get that ring!!

Thanks for the summer entertainment. You and the rest of the crew from the Excelsiors provided me with my Lacrosse fix for the summer. I enjoyed seeing you play solid games throughout the summer. Pardon me for saying, but it brought back a lot of good memories of your contribution the Rock team and the cups we won.
I hope your NLL season goes well this year and you top out on top, as you should. I will try and watch the San Jose to see how things are going.
Good luck in the coming year
Regards

Harold, thanks for the email. I'm glad you got your lax fix for the summer. The people in Brampton were treated to some very good lacrosse this summer!!! It was a great team to play for, and I really had a lot of fun...winning usually is fun I guess!!
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing me play again, it is always a welcome compliment.
Cheers,

Sounds like you had a good summer Colin. Congrat on the win! Our peewee team from Kemptville, Ont. did pretty good at the provincials in Whitby too. Moving up to bantam next year so that will be a challenge. Do you think you might do some clinics in Ontario in the future?

Hey Tominator, thanks for the note and welcome to the Yard. Congrats on your season and thanks for the congrats on mine. Bantam will be a lot of fun for you, I remember my bantam days like they were yesterday. I am hoping to do a couple of clinics in Ontario next summer. I will keep you posted for sure.
Cheers,
