Watch out for the San Jose Stealth!
What's up Yardbarkers? My name is Colin Doyle, I'm a professional lacrosse player and I'm excited to be joining your community. I see that Kyle Harrison has been teaching you some things about the game and hopefully I can lend some more insight. Kyle is a highly talented field lacrosse player. I played against him a couple times this summer and I was very impressed with him. Indoor lacrosse and field lacrosse are very different. A lot of the skills are the same - the passing, the catching, the scoring but the dimensions of the field make them very different games. I play indoor for the San Jose Stealth in the National Lacrosse League. Our home opener is tonight against the Calgary Roughnecks. If you've never seen indoor lacrosse you should check it out. It has everything a sports fan might like - it's physical, it's fast, it's finesse, it's tough, it's athletic, you get great goal scoring and you might even get some fights to break out. Really it's kind of like basketball, hockey and soccer mixed together. You get the crashing and banging of hockey, the 5-on-5 action and pick rolls like basketball and you stretch the floor like in soccer. We're excited about our team this year. I've been in the league for a long time and I've been on a lot of really good teams and I must say I have really lofty expectations this year. We have all the elements of being a very good team. We are extremely talented, we have great goaltending, a great young defense that will get better each game and seven different weapons who can light it up each night. I can honestly say we will expect to win every time we walk onto the floor. Even though the team has been here for five years we're really having a re-birth of sorts. With new owners and this great young team it's a new beginning for the Stealth and we're excited to see how good we can be. Now it's time to get out there and play.
