Mercedes has a seat open for next year and its team principal, Toto Wolff has been trying his hardest to somehow bring the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen on board. Amidst the former’s relentless pursuit, Red Bull’s Christian Horner has come up with a strong statement.

Horner has urged Toto Wolff to stop going after Max Verstappen. Moreover, to put more weight behind his statement, he has talked about the fact that the 26-year-old is contracted to the Milton-Keynes-based team until the end of 2028.

The Brit does not seem Verstappen going anywhere anytime soon!

I don’t think Toto’s problems are his drivers; I think he’s probably got other elements that he needs to be focusing on rather than focusing on drivers that are unavailable. Christian Horner said in an interview with racingnews365

The Red Bull boss has left no stone unturned in making it clear that Max Verstappen is just not available in the driver’s market. He has a long-term contract in place with Red Bull and thus, has suggested to Toto Wolff to start focusing on his drivers.

Christian Horner feels speculation around Max Verstappen is just ‘noise’

While Christian Horner has blatantly made it known that Verstappen is not going anywhere, he feels that the rumors around the Dutchman are developed just to create additional noise in the drivers market. Verstappen has been surrounded by the Red Bull departure rumors for quite some time.

Moreover, Toto Wolff with his regular comments has only added more fuel to the fire.

I don’t know how many more times he needs to say it. He said it numerous times. I’m not going get drawn into it – I think sometimes it’s just designed to create noise. Christian Horner said in the same interview

Max Verstappen is currently the hottest property at the pinnacle of motor racing. Keeping this in view, Red Bull is aware that its rivals are going to everything in their power to poach him away from them.

The team that has been leading in this department is Toto Wolff’s Mercedes. However, while there is massive interest from the Brackley-based outfit, it is very unlikely that Verstappen will leave Red Bull, especially under the current set of regulations.
