Josh Hart Has Been New York Knicks Unsung Hero So Far
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks were able to win a thriller in Game 2 of their first-round series in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. In the win, Josh Hart continued to be the unsung hero for the team.

In Game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Knicks secured their second straight win to start the series. Despite looking bleek late for the Knicks, they somehow found a way to pull off the win.

A late 3-pointer by Donte DiVincenzo nearly brought MSG down, as his clutch shot gave the Knicks a lead with 13 seconds remaining. While the clutch shot from DiVincenzo helped seal the victory, the unsung hero for the Knicks in the first two games of the series has been Hart.

In the first two games of the series, Hart has elevated his play to help his team. With Jalen Brunson struggling on offense in the early going, Hart has been one of the players who has stepped up for New York, as he has registered more than 20 points in both games so far.

Considering Hart didn’t average 10 points a game in the regular season, this is a massive jump in production for him. What has been encouraging for the Knicks has been Hart’s ability to hit 3-pointers, as he has nailed four 3-pointers in both games. If Hart is going to shoot above 40 percent from beyond the arc, the Knicks are going to win a lot of games in the NBA playoffs.

The Knicks always know that Hart is going to give them maximum effort when he is on the court, as he possesses arguably the best motor on the team. Hart is always crashing the glass and playing hard on defense while guarding multiple positions. However, his performance on the offensive end has been great so far in the NBA playoffs.

While it has only been two games for the Knicks, they have been able to find ways to win these games without their best player playing up to his normal standards. Luckily for the Knicks, Hart has been their unsung hero so far.
