No. 1 Quarterback in America Bryce Underwood Recaps LSU Visit
USA TODAY Sports

The LSU football staff brought in the nation's No. 1 signal-caller last weekend for a visit to Baton Rouge after Bryce Underwood made his way to campus.

Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, headlines LSU's elite recruiting class with Brian Kelly's program receiving a verbal commitment in early January.

The Bayou Bengals got Underwood back down South for a three-day stay where he arrived on Thursday and took in an LSU spring practice on Friday before departing Saturday afternoon, sources told LSU Country.

Underwood sat down for dinner with several elite prospects, including five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham and four-star wideout Jamie Ffrench.

Wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton has several tricks up his sleeve in the 2025 cycle, and with the No. 1 pass catcher in America already committed, he's looking to stack more talent.

Insert Underwood. He made his way down to The Boot to take in the scenes of Death Valley once again but also had an opportunity to put his recruiting cap on and help this program.

“I enjoyed it a lot,” he said. “I got to join a lot of the top players around the country and just recruit them, as well as me being there. They develop quarterbacks pretty well, and they get people where they want to be.”

Now, after anothet trip down South, Underwood already has a return trip on the horizon next month.

The top quarterback in America will make his way to Baton Rouge on April 13 for LSU's Spring Game.

It's a historic commitment for the Tigers and they're continuing to wine and dine the top pledge. LSU has traveled up to Michigan twice this calendar year and will now have him in Louisiana twice over the next six weeks.

“Bryce Underwood will likely go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of high school football in Michigan," MLive's Greg Wickliffe said. "His junior season was just as impressive as his first two campaigns as he led Belleville to a 13-1 record and a third-straight championship appearance. He was the most consistent player this season with more than 40 touchdown passes to only three interceptions.”

Underwood headlines the No. 1 recruiting class in America with Harlem Berry, the top running back in the country, and Dakorien Moore, the top wide receiver in the nation, also joining him as current commitments.

LSU Country will have the latest on the Tigers' recruiting schedule as they continue navigating a busy spring.
