Carlos Alcaraz responds to reports of father filming Novak Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz didn't deny that his father was likely filming Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon practice session recently but said there's no advantage the 20-year-old could gain if it's true.

Alcaraz -- who earned the top seed at this summer men's singles Wimbledon tournament -- is possibly three days away from facing "The Joker" in the finals. The 20-year-old phenom faces No. 3 seed Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals, while Djokovic takes on Jannik Sinner. Both matches are set for Friday.

"Probably it is true," Alcaraz said of reports in Serbia claiming his dad's actions, per Charlie Scott of The Athletic. "My father is a huge fan of tennis. He doesn’t only watch my matches."

The top-ranked men's player said he believes his father (Carlos Alcaraz Gonzalez) arrives at the All England Club at 11 a.m. and leaves at 10 p.m., "watching matches, watching practices from everyone."

"To be able to watch Djokovic in real life, yeah, probably it is true he'd film the sessions," the 2022 U.S. Open champion said.

Alcaraz said that any additional film of the 23-time Grand Slam champion wouldn't make a difference, as there's already ample footage out there for the public.

According to Scott's report, if Alcaraz wanted to, he could even train alongside Djokovic at Wimbledon's Aorangi Park practice courts to get a closer look.

"I don't think so," the Spaniard said when asked if his father's filming could help him. "I mean, I have a lot of videos from Djokovic on every platform. I think it's not an advantage for me."

Alcaraz was the No. 1 seed at the 2023 French Open but fell to Djokovic in the semifinals.

Djokovic has won the last four Wimbledon tournaments that took place (there was no event in 2020).
